The world’s most expensive cocktail costs $ 22,600
If you’re in the mood for an expensive cocktail, you probably don’t need to look any further than your local bar or lounge. But if you are looking for something really outrageous, you may need to head to Japan. According to Travel + Leisure, this is where guests can find the world’s most expensive cocktail, and it’s not cosmopolitan – it’s a $ 22,600 mix accompanied by a diamond.
The drink can be found at the Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, which serves the aptly named Diamonds Are Forever. Drinkers can expect Gray Goose vodka, lime, and, for added prestige, a $ 16,000 diamond.
The one-carat diamond is placed at the bottom of the customer’s glass, so they will probably have to be careful not to drink too quickly and risk knocking the piece of jewelry down.
The drink, which can be found at the bar inside the Ritz-Carlton, is prepared at the table and – at least before the pandemic – was also accompanied by a live band performing “Diamonds Are Forever”, the melody of Shirley Bassey which was the theme song to the 1971 James Bond film of the same name.
If it’s a little more than what you’d rather spend, you can always go for the more reasonable Ono at XS Nightclub in Las Vegas. The drink includes a pair of silver cufflinks and an 18k white gold chain, all for a reasonable price of $ 10,000. Tip not included.
