Panera Bread announced 2 new menu items: a grilled mac and cheese sandwich and a sausage and pepperoni flatbread pizza
The suburban sandwich landscape has generally been a place where simple, standard creations thrive. Think rye pastrami, a turkey club, and a BLT. You know, the classics. But Panera, the pinnacle of suburban restaurant chains, takes our palates to a new realm. The company announced two new menu items, a grilled mac and cheese sandwich and a sausage and pepperoni flatbread pizza.
The Grilled Mac & Cheese Sandwich, another improvement on what a grilled cheese can be, is made with Panera’s classic Mac & Cheese, which is made with a blend of fontine and mozzarella. The mac and cheese is topped with Parmesan crisps and wrapped between two toasted pieces of classic white loaf bread in thick slices. I don’t think there could be a bigger sandwich on a cold day.
Fancy something with a little more meat, but still a lot of cheese? The new Panera Sausage Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza is topped with tomato and pepper sauce, grated mozzarella and fontina cheeses, crumbled chicken sausages and pepperoni.
The two new menu items are now available at Panera nationwide. If you want to add something sweet to your meal, Panera Bread has brought back its pumpkin cookies for fall.
