National Deli Day is Thursday

This Thursday, March 3, is National Charcuterie Day.

National Deli Day, according to the National Day calendar, was designed for sandwich and snack makers. Call them charcuterie, charcuterie, charcuterie, or charcuterie, people love them. From charcuterie staples like turkey and ham to culinary delights like salami and prosciutto.

There are many delicatessens throughout the Hudson Valley. Living in Poughkeepsie for a few years at this point, everyone is still talking about Rossi’s Deli. It’s clearly a favorite in those areas, but honestly I’ve only been there a handful of times. My favorite is the K&D Deli in Poughkeepsie. It’s my favorite, because I guess it’s the most convenient for me, and they make great sandwiches. They also have great staff. When I’m across the river, I always go to Wagon Wheel’s Deli in Highland.

We asked Hudson Valley where their favorite deli was for a great deli sandwich and compiled a list of the top 5 deli meats.
