Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Disney Springs Thigh Chicken Cookies
One of the hardest restaurants to book in Disney Springs is Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. What makes this place so desirable to enjoy? Well, this place has a menu designed by Chef Art Smith. I state this following statement with respect. I wish to show no criticism. However, Art Smith does not create food for those looking to lose weight. His cooking style is based on the comfort food of the southern United States. If your doctor advises you to lose weight, don’t even walk past this restaurant. However, if you believe the myth that vacation calories don’t count, run to Homecomin’.
As you’d expect, fried chicken is the star of this menu. If you want really wonderful fried chicken, visit this place. On the appetizer menu, diners can order the “Thigh High Chicken Biscuits.” This appetizer is a great introduction to Homecomin’ cooking.
These chicken cookies are $17. If that price has you worried, welcome to Disney Springs. However, this appetizer might be worth that price. The menu description tells us that three excellent cookies are topped with Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thighs.
Now, for our friends living in the UK, these biscuits don’t taste like cookies. However, on this menu you can order fried chicken with donuts if you want salty and sweet together. These cookies look like savory scones like American Southern style cookies. Plus, these cookies feature a cheddar flavor to go with the rest of the article. As you can see from the photos, the iconic bread and butter pickles feature prominently with these cookies. The chicken is also drizzled with a coating of warm honey. This honey is blended with Art Smith’s special hot sauce. The combination of flavors deserves praise.
Although some guests are concerned about the quality of the chicken itself. I think these complaints operate as the exception and not the rule. I sometimes have a hard time recommending people order it because of the higher than expected price of $17. However, how could the chicken be bad at Art Smith? If you want to try the chicken starter kit at Homecomin’, this appetizer fills that need.
As always, eat your way!
